My Companion,
We all travel through life in a very hurried pace. Sometimes we can
attend religious services, sometimes, we cannot. However, we can
always take a few minutes to thank God for allowing us to be here, and
to serve our respective Grand Bodies.

Thought
When I was a teenager, I was told by an elderly mentor that living the Christian life meant to yield, to listen, and to serve God and that I should invite God to be a part of every daily task. My mentor pointed me to the story of Samuel, a child who listened and obeyed God. Later I read how Isaiah heard God speaking and then went on to serve God. It took years for me to learn to be aware of God's presence, but I now know that daily living is sweeter when I recognize that God is beside me.
I have found that as I listen and yield myself to God in my daily activities, doors open, opportunities to witness for God appear, and problems are solved with less stress. When I move away from God, I find myself feeling alone, troubled, and frustrated with life.
God gives us freedom to do as we choose, but God also gives us guidance and courage for every task, great or small. The Bible's reassurances of God's presence are offered not only to make us feel safe but as reminders to draw us closer to God so we may hear and move under God's direction. Consciously turning our minds to God makes the way brighter and the tasks easier.
